P.S. Love To Glow Facemask Review

Primark PS Love to Glow Facemask Review

We all know by now that I love me a beauty bargain and especially a Penney's one! Granted, I've had some hits and some misses and what works for me may not work for others, but in my opinion they do have some really great bits in their beauty ranges.

I read about this on social media a little while ago but found it hard to get hold of in store. I finally found it in Penneys on Mary Street in Dublin's City Centre a couple of weeks ago and of course one went into my shopping basket/bag thingy.

This is their Love to Glow face mask with Argan Oil and Vitamin E. It claims to be a rich, luxurious, exfoliating face mask to help smooth, soften and brighten tired skin. I am all too familar with tired skin so this is right up my alley! It has been hinted at by many that it is a similar mask to the high-end Glam Glow mask. I don't own the Glam Glow one and haven't tried it in the past- so I'm not going to claim that it is a "dupe" and I won't be comparing it to its pricier counterpart. I am much more comfortable with spending €3.50 for this one anyway. The word "dupe" is often loosely thrown about online and I think a product can only qualify as such if it looks, performs and lasts in the exact same way as the original product.

The product comes in a 50ml jar (and the packaging is sturdy and well-sealed which is good). The jar is small enough to sit on a bathroom shelf and while it's not the prettiest packaging in the world, it's by far not the worst! It is a mud-like mask- containing "kaolin" or "Sea Clay" in a putty-like colour and with quite a subtle fragrance. There are small bits of exfoliating agents in it - what it is I don't know - but it's not so much that it feels rough on the skin.

The instructions say to apply a thin layer to clean skin, leave for 10 minutes then remove with warm water. I did so, applying to my skin after cleansing, and tried not to slap on too much at least for my first attempt. After a couple of minutes, I did start to feel it tingling on my skin and to feel the mud drying out and tightening a little. To me it felt similar to the Vichy Normaderm mask that I already used and I felt like something must be working with the tightening and warming effects!

When the ten minutes was up, I rinsed it off with warm water, massaging some of the exfoliant in as I did so. My skin felt really soft and refreshed afterwards - that'll be the Argan Oil and Vitamin E - and I'm not sure whether it's brighter or not yet but we shall see whether it helps over time to improve the appearance.  For the tiny price, it is better than some high-street face masks that I've tried and I do like the clay-type masks best so this works for me. It doesn't say what skin type this suits best but if I don't know if it would be the type of thing to suit very dry skin - usually the clay-type masks will dry out the skin a bit.

Overall I don't think you can go wrong for €3.50. There is a moisturiser and a serum in the same range but I haven't picked those up so I can't comment there but I have since gone back to buy a second face mask as I was thinking it might not be available by the time I finish this jar! (Yes, I know, I have a problem..) Have you tried any of the PS skincare and what do you think of it? Let us know in the comments :)

Bye for now,
