Blank Canvas Cosmetics Master Series Palette One Review

Blank Canvas Cosmetics Master Series Palette

If you’ve been following Mamavoom for a while you will be all too familiar with my obsession with eyeshadow. It’s also no secret that I’m a big fan of Blank Canvas Cosmetics. Their makeup brushes are amazing quality yet affordable and it is great to be able to support Irish where we can!

In addition to makeup brushes, Blank Canvas also do a selection of makeup palettes including cream contour palettes, powder contour palettes, blush palettes and eyeshadow palettes including the bestselling Pippa for Blank Canvas palette.

This eyeshadow palette, the Master Series, Palette One, is fast becoming a favourite in my eyeshadow collection. I was lucky enough to receive this as a surpise gift at the recent launch of the Irish Blogger Agency in Cork and as it had been on my wishlist for ages I was delighted to receive it.

So onto the palette and its contents..
Blank Canvas Master Series Palette

The palette itself is made of a sturdy cardboard, like the Pippa Palette, and comes with an additional protective sleeve. There is also a mirror included on the inside.

It contains 12 beautiful eyeshadow shades, 11 of which are matte and one of which is a shimmer shade and is perfect for creating a wide variety of eye looks. Also included in the palette is a double ended E40/E41 Tapered Crease Blender/Smudger. It is rare to get good quality brushes in an eyeshadow palette – most of the time just those little sponge applicators are included, which for me anyway, never get used and end up in the bin or gathering dust in my makeup drawer. I've definitely been getting the use out of this one however.

The names of the shadows are printed on the inside of palette itself – which is great as in a lot of other palettes they are printed on a loose plastic sheet which you end up throwing away and then can never remember the names of all the shades! The names and pictures of each colour are also printed on the back of the palette.

On the top row, colours are as follows:

Blank Canvas Master Series Palette

Lily – a matte cream shade for either an all over base or for highlighting under the brow bone. This is the same shade of the same name which is also in their Pippa palette and it's always useful to have a shade like this in an eyeshadow palette.

Goddess – which is the only shimmer shade and is a pale ivory with a hint of gold. This is great for brightening up the inner corner of the eyes or for adding to the centre of the lid on a finished look to give extra dimension. This is not dissimilar to the in fact to the highlighter shade in the Pippa palette which is called Lulu.

Core – a matte biscuit shade which could be used as an all over base for the lid.

Hibiscus – a mid brown shade with a hint of rust.

Brazen - along the same rust brown tones as hibiscus but paler.

Carmin – one of my favourite shades in this palette, it's a beautiful rust shade which when combined with the first shade on the next row, Cocoa, creates a gorgeous warm smokey eye which would suit all eye colours but really makes blue eyes pop!

And onto the second row..

Cocoa - exactly as the name suggests, it's the colour of chocolate. Another of my favourites.

Downtown - also a chocolatey shade but cooler toned than Cocoa.

Forza - it's hard to describe this colour (at least for me anyway), but it is a coppery mid brown and perfect for the crease if you are doing an everyday makeup look.

Hickory - a chocolatey brown in similar tones to Downtown but warmer and a bit deeper.

Strut - a peachy shade which is almost like they mixed Brazen and Carmen together. Another lovely daytime shade.

Corruption - an intense 70% cocoa shade, perfect for smudging on the lash line or creating a really smokey brown eye.

So there you have each of the shades, all of which are super blendable and with great pigmentation.
You can create so many looks with the one palette making it so versatile and great for travelling. It's also going to be great for all eye colours due to the mix of warm and cool tones.

I genuinely wasn't given this product for the purpose of reviewing it, and I was planning on buying it in the Black Friday sales anyway. But if I had bought it myself, I would be writing the very same review - just to be totally honest and open with you guys. If you are looking for a starter eye palette or to add to your stash, then I highly recommend this one.

It can be bought online from Blank Canvas directly here for the price of €34.99. You can also find it on the Cloud 10 Beauty and Meaghers Pharmacy websites.

Here is a quick photo of a night time look that I created for a night out recently using this palette and a Physicians Formula glittery cream eyeshadow on top in the centre of the lid just to show you the shadows in action :)

If you've tried it already I'd love to hear what you think? Or if you have another "ride or die" eyeshadow palette that I must have in my life do pop a comment below either!
