Blue Sky Tag - 11 Questions

Recently I was nominated by the very lovely Joanne from Lipstick N Leopardprint to complete this Blue Sky Tag in which you answer several questions about yourself and in turn pass on the questions to some of your other blogging friends. Most of the time you don't really find out much about the faces behind the blogs so this is a great way to get to know a bit more about your favourite bloggers!

I'll pop a link to Joanne's answers here so you can head over if you want to find out a bit more about her. While you're there, make sure to follow her on her social media too! Thanks Joanne being such an all-round lovely lady and for nominating me!

There are a few little rules to this Tag:

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Answer the 11 questions.
  • Tag 11 people.
  • Give them 11 questions to answer.
So here are my answers to the questions Joanne asked!

Q1. Tell me your three desert island beauty products?

This is a tough one to start with! At the minute, I would take my Flawless Natural Basics palette – because I can’t be without eyeshadow or highlighter and this has both – am I cheating then? Secondly I would take mascara – my eyelashes are naturally fair so pretty non-existent without. My current favourite is Essence’s Lash Princess. Thirdly, I would take a concealer palette – the Ultra Cover & Conceal Palette from Makeup Revolution – as this has shades light enough for concealer and foundation and dark enough for a contour – again multitasking!

Q2. Tea or Coffee?

Definitely coffee. Coffee is my best friend and especially since I haven’t too many full night’s sleeps in the last three years!

Q3. Favourite current song?

I have very diverse musical tastes – I grew up in quite a musical household listening to Motown and The Beatles and everything in between so I find it hard to pick a specific song. A particular song can take me back to a certain place or time in my life in an instant and music has always been a big part of my life. But if I had to choose, right now I would pick Ordinary People by John Legend.

Q4.What have you learned from blogging?

I have learned a huge amount from blogging – and a lot about myself too in the process. In particular, I’ve learned that planning is key – as bloggers, you’re expected to be “everywhere” online at all times and when you’re a Mum with a full-time job that’s just not possible. So for me, planning and scheduling blog posts and social media posts is crucial and there are some great apps and tools out there to help that. About myself, I’ve learned that I have a passion for photography which I never knew I had! Often ideas for photos come into my head at the most random times and I can picture how I want a photo to look before I take it. Photography runs in my Mum’s side of the family so maybe that’s where I got the bug from – not that I’m very good at it mind you but I enjoy it and that’s the main thing!

Q5.What’s one quote you live your life by?

My late Grandad used to say “learn with it, change with it, get on with it” and this has always stuck with me. Because sometimes life throws a spanner in the works and your plans don’t work out and you need to change direction and basically just get on with it!

Q6Favourite budget brand?

Anyone who reads my blog or follows my Instagram will know that I’m a big fan of Makeup Revolution. They have been getting some bad press recently I know over the similarity of some of their products to other high-end brands and while I don’t condone this, I never buy their products on the basis that they might be a “dupe” for something else. I haven’t bought the products involved in the recent hype and I haven’t decided if I will or not, but 90% of the products from them that I’ve used have been great quality and I recommend these products often.

Q7What’s your favourite flower?

I adore tulips. They never last long enough and they’re so seasonal but they just always remind me of spring.

Q8. If you could live anywhere in the world where would you chose?

New York. In a heartbeat. I’ve been there on three different occasions, with Mr.Mamavoom, my best friends and my Dad and each time has been a different experience as there is always so much to explore and see. There is a buzz about the city that I can’t even describe and it will always have a special place in my heart because I've visited it with some really special people.

Q9.How would you spend your most perfect day?

Preferably it would be a warm sunny day so either on a beach or in a park with family and friends and a picnic or bbq.

Q10.What’s your favourite perfume?

I only wrote about this very recently in a Favourites post  and it’s Chanel Allure. Like music, a fragrance takes me back instantly to a time or place and this one reminds me of one of my first ever sun holiday. The scent is incredibly hard to describe as it’s so unique but I could quite happily only buy this perfume for the rest of my life – if I could afford it. And that says a lot because I’m a massive perfume addict.

Q11. Tell us one of your bad habits?

I’m sure Mr. Mamavoom could tell you a few but the one that gets up his nose the most is that I never iron clothes. I absolutely detest ironing and the “to be ironed” basket is never empty. I tend to put it off until I have nothing else un-creased left to wear and then it takes me hours to iron the whole lot. He’s always telling me I should put the clothes away and iron as I need them but that would drive me mad. Needless to say he does his own ironing. God help me when it comes to the time that Little Man needs school uniforms ironed!

So that's everything Joanne asked us to answer! Here are the lucky 11 that I nominate. They are all again lovely ladies with blogs that you should absolutely check out if you're not already following!
